The first meeting of people that would eventually form Capital City Christian Church met for the first time on the Sunday afternoon of September 4, 1960 in the house of Gail and Cletis Fielder. The next move was to the Lafayette Community Center in 1961. With this move, the church obtained their first minister. The next move was to a white house on Paul Russell Road. On January 11, 1962, the congregation received its incorporation as the Seminole Christian Church, and later was changed to Capital City Christian Church. Through the next several years, the congregation expanded their facilities on Paul Russell Road. Beginning in November of 1995, the congregation moved from Paul Russell Road to the Lighthouse Children's Home gymnasium as a temporary meeting place while the construction of a new facility was taking place. In May of 1997, the congregation was able to move to the current location on Mahan Drive.
