How to Become a Christian
What is Communion?
The Restoration Movement

The Restoration Movement began as a result of the Great Revival that occurred in frontier Kentucky in the early 1800s. Out of this came a group of Believers who wished to be known as Christians only. See the history of this great event.

This fellowship of independent churches considers the following to be true:
  • The Bible is the true and inerrant Word of God. (See Second Timothy 3:16-17)
  • We all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. (See Romans 3:23)
  • We cannot work our way to Salvation, but are saved by the Grace of God. (See Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and no one is saved except through Him. He was born of a virgin; He was sinless; He died on the cross for our sins; He was raised from the dead on the third day; And, He is coming again! (See Matthew 1:18, Hebrews 4:15, First Corinthians 15:3-4, John 14:3)
  • Immersion in water of a penitent believer is a Biblical baptism. (See Acts 8:26-39)
  • The purpose of the Church on earth is to fulfill the last command of Jesus. (See Matthew 28:18-20)
We are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only.

We attempt to follow the example and practices of the first century Church.

As the early Church met on the first day of the week to break bread (See Acts 20:7) we gather around the Lord’s Table on every first day of the week for Communion with Him.

We follow the example of the Disciples on the Day of Pentecost (See Acts 2:38) and baptize believers. The Greek word for baptize means “to immerse.” We practice immersion of believers.

We have no earthly headquarters - our headquarters is in Heaven.

Each congregation is independent; it calls its own ministers and appoints its own elders and deacons according to scripture. (See Titus 1:5)
